about gabriele croci
Gabriele Croci is an Italian composer, arranger and violist whose work bridges orchestral tradition, cinematic expression and contemporary storytelling.
Born in Rome, he graduated with highest honours from the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia and earned his Doctorate in Viola Performance at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg. His artistic education was shaped by some of the most distinguished figures in the field: in viola, through postgraduate studies with Bruno Giuranna and Yuri Bashmet, and in chamber music through the renowned Amadeus, Berg, Tokyo, La Salle, and Quartetto Italiano quartets, providing him with the highest level of training in both solo and ensemble performance.
As a violist, Gabriele has developed an extensive international career as a chamber musician, performing in major concert halls and theatres around the world. For over fifteen years he has been a specialist performer in contemporary music, collaborating with internationally acclaimed ensembles dedicated to the exploration and performance of new repertoire. His artistic versatility has been further shaped by collaborations with some of the most influential composers of our time, from film and media music with Ennio Morricone to contemporary classical music with Arvo Pärt, enriching his musical vision across different artistic languages.
This deep knowledge of instrumental colour, ensemble interaction and musical language informs his work as a composer and arranger. Gabriele creates original scores and arrangements for film, documentaries, media projects and artistic collaborations, combining classical craftsmanship with a contemporary cinematic vision
